Set up ChatGPT
Open ChatGPT → Plugins. If FastGrasp has already been shared with your account or workspace, select it and click Connect, then follow “Sign in and test” below.
Create a new custom plugin
If FastGrasp is not available, follow these steps. Custom plugins require an eligible plan and workspace permission.
- In Plugins, click + → Add custom MCP server.
- Enter FastGrasp in Name. For Description, enter: Search and read my saved FastGrasp sources.
- Paste the Server URL above into the MCP server URL field. Select OAuth.
- Open Advanced OAuth settings. Copy the callback URL shown by ChatGPT and send it to the FastGrasp operator. Wait for confirmation that this exact callback is registered and for the public client ID to use.
- Paste that ID into OAuth client ID. Leave OAuth client secret blank. Use the ChatGPT client ID below only if the operator confirms it covers this callback.
- Review the warning, check I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin. Install it if prompted, then click Connect.
Sign in and test
- Click Continue to FastGrasp if prompted. Sign in with the Google account you use for FastGrasp. Check the account shown, review library read and separate YouTube export access, then approve the permissions you want.
- Start a new ChatGPT chat. Type @ and select FastGrasp. Ask: “Use FastGrasp to retrieve my most recently saved source and show its title and original URL.” Compare them with your FastGrasp library.
- Ask: “Retrieve that source’s summary or transcript and give me one takeaway with a citation.” Check it against the saved source. If your library is empty, save a source and wait for processing first.
